AGEWELL RESEARCH LAB

PROMOTING HEALTH IN LATER LIFE

About the AGEWELL RESEARCH Lab

The AGEWELL Lab aims to improve health and wellness in later life. Current research projects are focused on helping older adults quit cigarettes. Older adults (65+ years) are most impacted by the negative health consequences of cigarette smoking, yet less likely to access smoking cessation treatment. We are interested in how to deliver free and widely-available technology-based cessation treatments for this age group. We are also evaluating patterns of cannabis use in this age group, particularly how cannabis co-use impacts one's ability to quit tobacco. Our lab is affiliated with Positive Aging Consortium at MTSU and we are committed to engaging with community partnerships in the middle Tennessee area.
